What do the parts of a SWIFT code mean?
A SWIFT/BIC code has up to 4 parts: a 4-letter bank code, a 2-letter country code, a 2-character location code, and an optional 3-character branch code (or "XXX" for the head office).
Why does my check say "no bank found"?
The code may be mistyped, belong to a bank not yet in our database, or be a newly-issued code. Double-check the code with your bank directly before sending money.
Is a SWIFT code the same length everywhere?
SWIFT/BIC codes are either 8 characters (head office) or 11 characters (specific branch) - never any other length.
